Shannon got MARRIED!
So every year, the week before school starts, Harding has a bunch of activities for freshman, I don't even remember what it's called...but one of those nights they have a hynotist pull freshman from the audience to hynotize. So the guy goes through the audience and there's this super loud and annoying girl standing on her chair in front of me, waving her hands to get called on. He didn't call on her, but she ran up there anyway. At this point I was like, this girl was seriously rubbing me the wrong way but she got hypnotized. She got REALLY hypnotized. She was so into it, hilarious. So it turns out my roommate grew up with that girl. Her name was Shannon Parker, and because Michelle and her were friends, Shannon and I became friends. One of my best friends, in fact. And last week....we had to let Shannon go...to a boy named Kyle Binkley. And they are SO CUTE and SO HAPPY together! And I'm really happy for them! Here's some happy time from Shannon and Kyle's wedding!Thursday, June 24, 2010

Nags Head, here we come!

This time next week I will be packing my bags for Nags Head, NC! My mom likes the little beach towns of the Outer Banks. That's a long strip of island off of the coast of North Carolina. They're very quaint beach towns, where "Nights in Rodanthe" took place. Very laid back and relaxing, it's not a Spring Break, party town, which is why it's so wonderful! I plan on sleeping, laying out, enjoying the local seafood spots (and homeade ice cream shacks) and cooking and taking photos, of course! We might even get out on some jet skis. I'm sure it'll all end up here on my blog! Here's our beach house! The best part is the rocking chairs on the back, covered porch that wraps around the house...Can you say relaxing! OBX here we come!
Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic.
Hellllooo world! Here I am! I spend so much time looking at blogs (mainly baking blogs) that I figured why not make my own?! I love my family and friends, cooking/baking and traveling...so I thought I'd blog about those things! I am TOTALLY new to this! I am open to suggestions (like how to get the title of my blog centered with my banner) or how to download different fonts to my blog, just for fun! (I may or may not have spent two hours following these directions - http://www.kevinandamanda.com/whatsnew/tutorials/how-to-use-a-cute-font-for-your-blogger-post-titles.html - on how to download fonts to my blog..that didn't work) But I'm really excited, whether it's just my mom and dad reading or the whole world, this is my blog! LG
